Best CRM for Ecommerce (2026): Shopify, WooCommerce and DTC Picks

In this article
- For most Shopify and WooCommerce stores, the best CRM is an ecommerce marketing CRM such as Klaviyo or Omnisend: it reads every order, builds segments from purchase history and runs email and SMS from the same customer profile.
- Pick Klaviyo if email and SMS drive most of your repeat revenue and you want deep segmentation; pick Omnisend if you want the same core jobs at a lower entry price, including on WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Wix.
- Add a helpdesk CRM such as Gorgias when support volume grows: agents see the order next to the ticket and can refund or cancel without opening Shopify admin.
- Choose a sales CRM (HubSpot, Zoho or Salesforce) only when people sell: wholesale accounts, B2B reps or a retail team. Large multi-brand or omnichannel retailers usually end up with Salesforce or a custom integration layer.

Which CRM fits your store? Take the quiz
Is your problem repeat purchases, support tickets or wholesale follow-up? The seven questions work that out from your platform, team and sales channels. Each tool gets a percent fit, and two high scores often mean you need a marketing CRM and a helpdesk side by side.

Three kinds of ecommerce CRM, and why it matters
Many “best CRM” lists put Klaviyo next to Salesforce Sales Cloud as if they did the same job. They don’t. An online store usually needs one of three tools, sometimes two.
- Marketing CRM (Klaviyo, Omnisend). Built around the order. Every purchase, cart and product view updates a profile, and segments drive email, SMS and onsite messages. This is the CRM most DTC stores mean.
- Helpdesk CRM (Gorgias). Built around the conversation. Email, chat and social messages land in one inbox with the customer’s orders beside them, so agents answer “where is my order” in seconds.
- Sales CRM (HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce). Built around the deal. Pipelines, tasks and quotes for people who sell: wholesale reps, B2B account managers, a corporate gifting team.
The store platform stays the system of record for products, orders and payments. Each CRM reads from it, and the more tools you add, the more it matters which one owns the customer profile.
What an online store actually needs from a CRM
These seven criteria decide whether an ecommerce CRM earns its fee:
- A deep, live sync with your platform. Orders, line items, products, carts, refunds and discount codes, close to real time. A CRM that only imports names and emails is a mailing list.
- Segments built on purchase behavior. First-time vs repeat buyers, spend, product category, days since last order, predicted next order. This is where repeat revenue comes from.
- Flows, not just campaigns. Welcome, browse and cart abandonment, post-purchase, review request, replenishment and win-back sequences that run on their own.
- Consent handling for email and SMS. Separate opt-ins per channel, synced back to the store, so unsubscribes never get lost between tools.
- Support with order context. Agents should see the order, tracking and past tickets in one view, and fix simple issues without switching tabs.
- Loyalty, reviews and returns in the profile. Points, review history and returns tell you who your best customers are. Pick apps that write this data back to the customer record.
- Revenue attribution you can trust. Which flow or campaign produced orders, measured against a sensible window, not every open.
What matters less than vendors suggest: a classic deal pipeline (unless you sell wholesale), the total number of integrations, and AI features you won’t use in the first six months.
The shortlist in depth
Because marketing tools price by list size, model each bill at next year’s list, not today’s. Prices come from the vendor’s pricing page, help center or app listing.
Klaviyo: best for Shopify DTC brands that grow through email and SMS
Fits: direct-to-consumer brands with a few thousand customers or more, where repeat purchases drive profit.
Strengths: Klaviyo builds a customer profile from store events and runs email, SMS, mobile push and review requests from it. Its WooCommerce extension, published by Klaviyo, describes syncing orders, products, cart activity and signups into a lifetime view of every customer. Segments can use purchase behavior, RFM groups and predictions such as customer lifetime value.
Klaviyo’s help center covers a real-time BigCommerce integration, and Klaviyo lists integrations for Adobe Commerce and Salesforce Commerce Cloud. Klaviyo also sells a customer service product that shares the marketing profile.
Limits: pricing follows active profiles, so bot sign-ups and old contacts raise the bill. The depth takes time to learn; a solo founder may pay for more than they use.
Pricing: according to Klaviyo’s pricing page, the free plan covers up to 250 active profiles, 500 email sends a month and $5 of mobile messages a month. Klaviyo’s Shopify App Store listing shows email from $20 a month for 251–500 profiles and SMS from $15 a month for up to 1,250 credits.
Omnisend: best value, and the easiest start on any platform
Fits: small and growing stores, especially on WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix or Ecwid, that want order-based automation without a long setup.
Strengths: Omnisend lists Shopify, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Wix, Shoplazza and Ecwid among its platforms. Its pricing page includes free migration and 24/7 support on every plan, email, SMS and web push in one tool, and a product recommender and dynamic content even on the free plan. Pro includes SMS credits equal to your monthly bill.
Limits: segmentation and reporting are simpler than Klaviyo’s, and the free plan requires Omnisend branding. Check the contact tier you will hit in a year.
Pricing: the free plan covers up to 250 contacts and 500 emails a month. Standard (6,000 emails, 500 contacts) and Pro (unlimited emails within fair use, 2,500 contacts) list at $16 and $59 a month, billed monthly. In October 2026 Omnisend’s pricing page shows both 30% off for the first three months when prepaid. US SMS costs $0.007–0.009 per message depending on volume.
Gorgias: best helpdesk CRM for Shopify stores
Fits: stores where support volume is the bottleneck: order status questions, returns, address changes, subscription edits.
Strengths: Gorgias’s documentation lists Shopify actions agents can run from a ticket, including cancelling an order, full or partial refunds, refunding shipping and editing the shipping address. Its pricing page lists integrations with Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento and WooCommerce, and multi-store support. An AI agent can answer and act on routine requests.
Limits: it is a support tool, not a marketing or sales CRM. Pricing scales with tickets, and AI-handled conversations beyond the small allowance in each plan are billed on top and also count as tickets.
Pricing: according to Gorgias’s pricing page, Starter is $10 a month (monthly billing only) for 50 tickets, and Basic is $60 a month, or $50 billed annually, for 300 tickets; higher tiers are priced by ticket volume. The AI agent costs $1.00 per automated interaction on monthly contracts and $0.90 on annual ones.

HubSpot: best for wholesale and B2B accounts on Shopify
Fits: brands with wholesale buyers, retail stockists, corporate gifting or other accounts that need a person to follow up.
Strengths: your wholesale account managers get deals, tasks, sequences and quotes next to each buyer’s order history. According to HubSpot’s knowledge base, the Shopify Data Sync app syncs contacts, companies and products both ways, and orders and abandoned checkouts one way from Shopify into HubSpot. It is available with all HubSpot products and plans.
Limits: product variants sync only one way, as separate product records, and Shopify metafields aren’t supported. Company sync needs Shopify Plus, and custom field mappings need at least Data Hub Starter. For WooCommerce, the HubSpot for WooCommerce listing on WooCommerce.com is marked as retired, so you rely on third-party connectors.
Pricing: free for up to 2 users. Sales Hub Starter lists at $20 per seat per month, with a discounted rate from $7 per seat for new customers in October 2026. Professional starts at $90 per seat per month (list $100), plus a required one-time $1,500 onboarding fee, according to HubSpot’s pricing page.
Zoho CRM: best budget sales CRM with a Shopify sync
Fits: stores that need a real sales CRM for wholesale or B2B, at a low per-user price.
Strengths: according to Zoho’s help center, the official Shopify extension brings Shopify customers in as leads or contacts, orders into Sales Orders, products (with variants) into Products, and abandoned checkouts in as deals. You can choose one-way or two-way sync and link several Shopify stores to one CRM.
Limits: Zoho notes that changes to existing Shopify orders don’t carry over after the first sync, and that on the Basic Shopify plan only sales orders sync, without personal data. Setup takes more configuration than HubSpot.
Pricing: free for up to 3 users, according to Zoho’s pricing page; paid editions are priced per user.
Salesforce: best for large, multi-brand and omnichannel retail
Fits: brands with several storefronts, physical stores, a B2B channel and teams in sales, service and marketing who need the same customer record.
Strengths: Salesforce covers commerce, service, marketing and sales on one platform. Its Commerce pricing page lists Commerce Cloud B2C and B2B editions, Order Management and a Retail Cloud point-of-sale product. Brands on Shopify can still use Salesforce as the CRM; our Shopify Salesforce integration guide covers how.
Limits: it needs an admin or partner, and the commerce products are quote-only. For a single DTC store it is usually more than you need.
Pricing: Starter Suite lists at $25 per user per month and Pro Suite at $100 per user per month billed annually, according to Salesforce’s pricing page. Commerce Cloud, Order Management and Retail Cloud POS are listed as “Contact for pricing”.

Best CRM for Shopify
Shopify’s own customer records and segments are enough for a store in its first months. Once you need automated flows, SMS and predictive segments, add Klaviyo or Omnisend; both install from the Shopify App Store and pull orders in automatically. Add Gorgias when support takes more than a person’s afternoon.
Wholesale on Shopify. According to Shopify’s help center, Shopify B2B is available on the Basic, Grow, Advanced and Shopify Plus plans, with features depending on the plan. Shopify can then run the wholesale storefront, while a sales CRM such as HubSpot or Zoho handles prospecting, follow-ups and account plans. Keep the company record in Shopify and sync it out, not the other way round. For B2B-first sellers, our guide to the best B2B CRM goes deeper.
Best CRM for WooCommerce
WooCommerce gives you full control of your data, but fewer polished first-party syncs. Klaviyo publishes its own WooCommerce extension, and Omnisend lists WooCommerce as a supported platform, so the marketing side is well covered.
Sales CRMs are the weak spot. The HubSpot for WooCommerce listing on WooCommerce.com is marked as retired, so HubSpot and Zoho connect through third-party plugins or tools such as Zapier. Before you commit, check who maintains the connector, whether it syncs line items and refunds, and how it handles historical orders.
Because WooCommerce runs on your own server, a custom sync is also realistic: the REST API and webhooks are open, and a small integration is often cheaper over three years than a stack of plugins. See our WooCommerce development cost guide for typical rates.
Retail stores, loyalty, reviews and returns
Retail with physical stores. The hard part is one customer across the POS and the website. Use a POS that shares customers with your ecommerce platform, capture email or phone at checkout with consent, and let the marketing CRM read both channels. Restaurants have a different workflow; see our guide to the best CRM for restaurants.
Loyalty, reviews and returns. These apps hold some of your best customer signals: points balances, star ratings and return reasons. Choose ones that write events back to your marketing CRM, so you can exclude serial returners from discounts or invite top reviewers to a VIP list. Klaviyo lists product review campaigns, including for WooCommerce stores.
Costs beyond the license
An ecommerce CRM bill grows with your list, and the setup work comes before the first sale it drives. Plan for these lines too (our 2026 estimates, depending on vendor region and scope):
- Setup and flows. Building core flows, templates, segments and consent settings is days of work for a specialist, or weeks of a founder’s evenings.
- Data migration. Moving customers, consent status, order history and suppressed contacts from an old email tool or platform. Getting consent wrong is the expensive mistake.
- Integrations. A simple one-way push, such as wholesale orders into your CRM, typically costs $2,000–10,000 as custom code. A two-way sync between a store, a CRM and an ERP or warehouse system is closer to $10,000–40,000. The API integration cost guide goes through these ranges in more depth.
- Growth of the list. Marketing CRMs bill by contacts or active profiles, so a successful pop-up form also raises your bill. Prune inactive profiles on a schedule.
When off-the-shelf stops fitting: you run several storefronts on different platforms, wholesale pricing lives in an ERP, or subscriptions, rentals or made-to-order products don’t fit any app’s data model. Then an integration layer or a custom CRM on top of your platform can pay off.
When the store, ERP and marketplaces all hold customer data, start with cost of data integration; if no off-the-shelf CRM fits your wholesale or subscription model, our custom CRM development cost guide shows the build budget.
Setup plan: from install to repeat revenue
- Decide which system owns whatThe store owns products, orders and B2B companies. The marketing CRM owns consent and segments. The helpdesk owns conversations. Write it down before you connect anything.
- Clean and import your customersExport from the old tool with consent status and suppressions. Merge duplicates by email and phone, then import before switching on any sends.
- Connect the store and backfill historyInstall the official integration and sync past orders, so segments such as “bought twice in 12 months” work from day one.
- Build the five core flowsWelcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, review request and win-back. Launch them one by one and check attribution after two weeks.
- Connect support, loyalty, reviews and returnsMake sure each app writes back to the customer profile, so marketing and support see the same history.
- Add wholesale or B2B, if you sell that waySet up the sales CRM, sync companies and orders, and define stages from first contact to first reorder.
- Measure after 30 daysRepeat purchase rate, revenue from flows, support response time, unsubscribe and complaint rates. Cut what doesn’t move these numbers.

Where Gilzor fits
Most stores can install Klaviyo or Omnisend themselves. Where Gilzor helps is when customer data has to move between the store, a sales CRM, an ERP or a warehouse. We are a software development company from Poland and Cyprus, with no CRM product of our own and no reseller agreements.
For online stores we set up and migrate CRMs, connect them to Shopify, WooCommerce, ERPs and warehouses through API development, provide Salesforce integration services, and build custom CRMs when no product fits. Name your platform and current tools, and we’ll suggest a setup with a rough cost and timeline.
